From this can we conclude that if god kills your wife which is the only way anyone can die, if god takes you, then it's ok for you to have sex with your daughters to get them pregnant. You most likely have to do this more than once to insure they get pregnant. Have fun. It's god's will.
Recently the scientists successfully create life from scratch. Let's hope that they will have enough smarts to avoid making it in our own image.

I'm not quite sure why he would want to take care of us in view of the destruction we are causing. More likely he would want to send us high unlivable temperatures, violent stores, quakes, crop failures, diseases, floods, and anything else he can conjure up to get rid of this virus that plagues his planet.
The recent earthquake in Haiti is a good example of god's will.
Prayer
Prayer is a common theme in many religions, although not all. Most of the believers pray for god's help and rarely to ask how they can help him. A natural behavior for a species who's many traits include greed. This reminds me of our close relative, the monkey and the African monkey trap. The trap consists of a vessel with a small neck tied to a tree containing a small amount of food in the bottom. The monkey reaches in and grabs a handful of the food but when he tries to take his hand out with the food in his fist it is too large to fit back through the vessel's small neck. Of course all he has to do is let go of the food and he will be free but he can't bring himself to do this and hence he is trapped. He is destroyed by his own greed. Humans are just like monkeys in this respect. To save ourselves from climate change and survive for another day we must let go of the food. We won't. I digress. Back to prayer. Let's look at the modern day science. We are learning more every day about the vastness of the universe. we now measure distances in space in light years. A light year is the distance that light traveling at 186,000 miles per second will take to get from point A to point B. Many of the planets, stars we see in our sky a many light years away. So far away that they may not even exist anymore and all we are seeing is the residual light. Ok, so let' go on an imaginary trip into space so we can get a handle on the size of things. You and I , no, you can be god. You are huge and you are just one of about six billion gods, but your our god. Now, on your little toe, just behind the toenail there is one of many hairs on your body. You are, after all, our likeness as we've been taught. About half way down that hair is a speck of dust and on the outer edge of that spec is a planet that forms part of the molecular makeup of that dust and it's called earth. Of course the earth is only one of the many planets and galaxies that form that dust spec. Now you, being god, will no doubt be vary aware and caring about the creatures living on that planet that forms part of that dust spec on your hair on your toe. Yah sure! You won't even be very aware of the hair never mind the dust spec and it's molecular make up. To me prayer is one of the most arrogant practises that our species engages in. Ok you can stop playing god now. It' my turn. I want my turn. Now that it's my turn I'm going to wash my foot. But not to worry because it will take billions of our years for the dust spec to get swamped.
Diversity
Now if your a good Christian and someone comes into your store to buy a coat and you can see that he really can't afford it, you will give it to him. This is just like all the true Christians in my country, Canada, are returning their lands back to the Indians who were swindled out of it by our forefathers. True there are a great many hypocrites that call themselves Christian but don' even know the teachings of the religion. This includes the church leaders as well.

You might want to stop reading here because we are about to tackle some of the more disgusting parts of religion. I pick on the Christian religion first, not because I think it has any more traps than any other, even though I was raised without any one brainwashing me into a specific religion, it is the one I have learned the most about. By disgusting I am not referring to religious practices. I am referring to the organized church's abuse of its parishioners through miss information and downright lies. In Jesus time both Greek and Roman societies had many common customs. One of these was that an older man had a you boy, early pubescent, whom he took with him to the baths where the men showed off their boys and engaged in sexual activities with him. The most desirable boy was good looking and had a medium sized genitalia. Too small or too big might cause one to be thrown to the lions. If a boy did not have an older man to take him to the baths then he would have to go knocking on doors in the hopes of finding one. The risks of not having an older mentor could be another reason for feeding the lions. Now once the boy completed puberty,(a beard would be a good clue) he was no longer acceptable to his mentor. He would then have to mentor another boy and his mentor would need to find a new boy. Hmmm, pretty kinky by today's standards but expected behavior at the time.
In a recent discovery of a text that has been authenticated as being written by the disciple Mark, but oddly not part of the bible, he relates how Jesus lay with a young boy during the night . There were other such incidents.

"And they come into Bethany. And a certain woman whose brother had died was there. And, coming, she prostrated herself before Jesus and says to him, "son of David, have mercy on me". But the disciples rebuked her. And Jesus, being angered , went off with her into the garden where the tomb was, and straightway, going in where the youth was, he stretched forth his hand and raised him, seizing his hand. But the youth, looking upon him, loved him and began to beseech him that he might be with him. And going out of the tomb they came into the house of the youth, for he was rich. And after six days Jesus told him what to do and in the evening the youth comes to him, wearing a linen cloth over his naked body. And he remained with him that night, for Jesus taught him the mystery of the Kingdom of God. And thence, arising, he returned to the other side of the Jordan."
Similar to the baths. Now a days such practices are frowned upon, to put it mildly. Why? Homosexual behavior by males of all species (females too) is common practice. The Kinsey Report published in 1943, the same year that I was published, confirms this sexual practice. Other studies since have confirmed this. Again I ask why would the churches want to make a common natural human practice into a sin? Well it's a necessary part of any organized group that there must be some need to join the group. More than just belonging to a group. The best sign up criteria for religions has always been guilt. I you want a large guilty parish of those who need forgiveness then you pick on something that almost everyone is doing and then tell them that it's bad. Sort of like telling young boys that if they masturbate they will go blind. I'd believe that except that I am not blind. Yet. I'll keep trying and I'll let you know.
There was, maybe still is, a tribe where all them men and boys slept together at one end of the clearing and all the women and girls slept at the other. Only once a year did the men go to other end of the clearing to sleep with the women. When we generalize it appears that homosexual practice among males of different species may actually be the norm with heterosexuality being pushed by the church solely to increase its numbers.
There is one thing that we might want to consider when looking at early times. Jesus was born in the year 1 BC and he died in the year 1AD. These two years are back to back. There are no years between 1BC and 1AD. So that would mean that if Jesus lived between 1BC and 1AD he would never have lived at all. Since most of the bible contains fictional stories, it is very likely that he is a fictitious character. If so then so was his relationship with his disciples. Personally, I like his teachings and I also like the 10 commandments, well nine of them anyway. I do have a small list of politicians that I'd like to snuff. Unfortunately the commandments go against human nature.

The first thing to come to mind when anyone imagines the Colosseum are the spectacles of gladiatorial combat. Two men fighting one another to the death to the jeers and howls of the crowd before one finally capitulates, then the sadistic emperor let's loose the lions - these are the
images we think of when we imagine one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. But what most people don't consider when thinking of the Roman Colosseum is the live sex shows that occurred there.
No doubt intrigued, don't think that this was a simple exaggeration - these were not just simple stripteases to keep older men happy between bouts of blood and gore, but were actual spectacles of skin and lust, the Spice Channel of the ancient world, as it were.
The Colosseum was a site of spectacles that the entire world would fall over themselves to see. For those native to the city, it was an escape from reality and a reminder that even as a lowly pleb who couldn't afford his debt to the various cartels (called collegium at the time) there was still someone who had it worse than you. A lot worse. You weren't getting torn apart by lions, after all.
Body mutilation
Yet another disgusting religious practice is that of body mutilation. In Canada we suffer great confusion about this. For some reason we accept it when practiced by one religion but not another. For example our population generally finds foot binding or female circumcision to be repugnant, whereas when the Jewish cut off the foreskin of their males we look the other way. Body piercing, a personal religion, is somewhat accepted.
Climate Change
Yah, that's what this is all about. Remember? Did we get off topic? Not at all. I just needed to lay some groundwork for this question.
If the majority of the race actually swallow the religious teachings of the modern churches and actually believe there is a "guy in the sky" watching over them, then where will the rational thinking come from to get us out of this climate crisis, and why did we ever let ourselves get into this position in the first place?
